Here are some examples of our previous happy customers and the work we have completed for them.
Mrs Baker Derby
Mr & Mrs Baker decided to change their dated tiled fireplace and gas fire and bring their traditional chimney back to life with a real fire. After consultation it was decided to reline the chimney with a flexible steel flue liner and fit cowl with bird guard to the chimney stack. Building work was carried out to open up the fire opening. A new rustic tiled hearth was fitted along with an aged brick interior chamber and the couple opted for a solid light oak beam and a 5kw Hillandale multifuel stove. They love burning soild fuel in the new fireplace which has transformed their bungalow.
Mr & Mrs Leary Rotherham
Mr & Mrs Leary were restoring their home a large Georgian period property. After discussing various options with Brian and viewing a range of natural stone samples, they chose an impressive bespoke limestone surround, hand made in Portugal. They complemented this with a highly polished natural black granite hearth and back panel set which was reinforced for burning solid fuel at high temperatures. We refurbished their existing Jetmaster 700 Extra woodburning convector box, it was some years old but it was made to look like a new fire with a stainless steel trim supplied by Jetmaster.
Mrs Clarke Doncaster
Mrs Clarke had a new build detatched dorma bungalow with a small chimney breast and she wanted a functional fireplace for woodburning. Brian disscussed various options and designs taking in to consideration the proportion of the fireplace and stove required for the limited space. Mrs Clarke chose this lovely contemporary fireplace in Semi Rijou natural limestone complemented with a honed natural black granite hearth and a skamol interior fitted with a Newton 5kw woodburning matt black stove. Mrs Clarke was delighted with the end result.

Mr Bell Doncaster
Mr & Mrs Bell contacted Sherwood regarding the supply and installation of a number of fires for their home. These were the results.
Mrs Weir- Doncaster
Mrs Weir one of Brian’s previous customers, contacted Sherwood to ask if a multifuel stove could be fitted into her exisitng fireplace to replace the pebble effect inset gas fire. Brian suggested an Acquisitions Cannonbury 4 inset stove, as this would cause minimum disturbance to the fireplace. The chimney was lined with a flexible stainless steel flue liner and suitable chimney cowl with bird guard. The customer was delighted with the finished result and has certainly noticed the difference in heat output and running costs.
This customer wanted a substantial fireplace for the lounge to replace the existing wall mounted low efficiency, low output gas fire. They chose this beautiful bespoke natural Cotswold stone fireplace from Farmington Stone, with a hearth and chamber in honed natural black granite, along with a CL5 woodburning stove from Yeoman.
Innes – New Home Doncaster
Mr and Mrs Innes and their family had a beautiful new home built for them and chose a selection of fireplaces complete with gas and electric fires to complement the design of each individual room.
The Regent Hotel Doncaster
The Regent Hotel contacted us with a view to replacing the existing gas fire in the Magnolia Rooms bar. A sympathetic approach was required to provide something stylish but traditional that gave good heat and efficiency but would also compliment the beautiful period marble fireplace. A new 5 kw gas stove was chosen. The scaffolding access provided brilliant views over Doncaster for the fitting team whilst installing a chimney liner and cowl with bird guard. The fireplace has now been brought to life and the owners are delighted with the final result.
Mr Platt New Build Finningley Doncaster
Installation at a new property in Doncaster. The customer wanted a Swedish woodburning stove however, the new property had no chimney. We supplied and installed a stainless steel twin wall flue system with a black powder coated finish. Scaffolding was required to run the flue system up the outside wall of the property. The customer chose a Contura 880 pedestal stove and decided to use tiles as a stylish way to create a non-combustible backdrop and base for the stove resulting in this outstanding contemporary feature.
Mr & Mrs Lindley Sheffield
This was Mr and Mrs Lindley’s second stove fitting by Sherwood, this time in a more contemporary style. We opened up the traditional chimney to install an American oak beam, slate hearth and inner hearth, a waterfall inglenook interior and a moden Heta woodburning stove. They were delighted once again with the result.
A recent fitting in Doncaster, involving removal of the existing freestanding gas fire and wood fireplace with marble set. Updating to a beautiful Victorian Classic 58″ limestone fireplace, polished cast arch with gas fire and a natural black granite hearth all from Acquisitions of London.
All the work was carried out in one day including chimney sweep and fitting of gas cowl with bird guard, and of course removal of all debris from the premises.
Mr Cocker – Sprotbrough Doncaster
Updated from a victorian cast fireplace to a solid oak beam inglenook package with a Bloomsbury ivory multifuel stove. This was the finished result – it looks superb. (click to see before and after).
